Hello Dolls! It’s a new year and for most of us this means new beginnings – the opportunity to reassess what worked and what didn’t in all areas of our lives. We decide to stay with the status quo or make the necessary adjustments. Some areas like career, relationships and finances require more of a heavy lift; but there are some things that are less heady we can do to start the year off fresh.
If you are like me, I start by tackling much needed organization projects in my home. First up the guest coat closet, followed by the basement storage closet and finally my wreath design studio. I love organizing, but equally love shopping for organizing and storage items. Here are some of my organization favs that will hopefully inspire you.
IKEA Bumerang Hangers
I love to open my closet and the clothing is neatly organized, spaced and hung by item type and color. My pet peeve is a hodgepodge of hangers. A while ago, I purchased pretty pink velvet hangers, and much to my chagrin, the pink rubbed off on my white blouses! Needless to say I was horrified; so off I went in search of new hangers. Clean and minimal works best me, so I opted for these Bumerang white wooden hangers I found in IKEA.
Poppin Desk Supplies + Accessories
I truly believe that I focus better and work more efficiently when my desk area is clean, clear and neat, with my necessary supplies organized and accessible. Again, I opted for a minimal aesthetic and Poppin desk supplies are my choice to keep my desk area on point. I love white, but they offer a bevy of colors to meet your fancy.
Peep The Pretty Domestic desk below.
The Container Store Grey Drop Front Shoe Boxes
If you are a Doll with a mean shoe game, you know that there never seems to be enough room for shoe storage. Boxes are different sizes, making storage challenging and sometimes disorganized. What’s even more frustrating is having to open numerous shoe boxes to see what’s inside. These sophisticated drop-front shoe boxes will pamper those Louboutins, protect against dust, and keep them easy to access.
You also have the option of purchasing the Luxury Closet Starter Kit, if you are considering a complete reorganization.
The Lexington Cart
A cart is an informal way to store items that you use frequently. I’ve seen the Lexington Cart from Michael’s styled several ways, but particularly love how Homeyohmy styled it in various rooms. I am thinking of purchasing one or two to organize and accommodate my design supplies.
Kitchen Spice Jar + Labels
Ok, I admit that my husband thought I was absolutely crazy when I embarked upon this little project; but I couldn’t stand the disarray that was in the spice cabinet. The solution, Talented Kitchen Magnetic Spice Tins and 113 accompanying labels.
It takes no time to transfer and label your spices into the new tin. You will be uber pleased at the instant organization of you spice cabinet, your ability to locate just what you need for that recipe and not repurchase spices because you were unable to locate them.
The Talented Kitchen 14 Glass Spice Jars and labels are also nice, if you want a different look.
Z Gallerie Bodega Storage Boxes
You know the drill, you come in the house and throw your keys and whatever other sundry you have in your hands onto the end table. Why not consider a decorative storage box. You’ll know where everything is and have a stylish piece, or two, for your table. I love this set from Z Gallerie, which comes in off-white and salmon.
Z Gallerie Storage Benches and Ottomans
I’ve always liked the look of a swanky storage bench or ottoman at the end of, or beside the bed, or in a living area. Great for storing blankets or seasonal linens, it can also serve as a nice statement piece.
For a modern twist, the Z Gallerie Declan Storage Bench with lucite legs in Bella Gray is hot.
The Robinson Storage Ottoman in dark blue, with silver polished nail heads works well as smaller storage accent piece. It’s also available in white, grey and black.
Christmas Storage
Finally Dolls, the annual post holiday struggle involves where to store all of the holiday decor. Peep your local Target for a wide selection of storage options for ornaments, trees, and of course those Pretty Domestic Wreaths you ordered to glam your door this holiday season.
